Resilience

Resilience has never been more important than it is today. Our world has changed and continues to change at breakneck speed. As that darn bug keeps plaguing the entire world, so the operating system of the world keeps changing – the way we work, the way we live, the way we share life visit with family and friends, the way we shop and the amount with which we all long for “normalcy” – the way life used to be.

In our series of communication on leadership, agile teams and infinite strategy, I would like to share a few precious wisdoms on “resilience”. These words resonate today as much as they did many years ago when they were first uttered and speak to the very core of our existence.

  1. “Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it’s less good than the one you had before. You can fight it, you can do nothing but scream about what you’ve lost, or you can accept that and try to put together something that’s good.”― Elizabeth Edwards

Tip: Make a list of all that is not working right now, and then highlight the things you have 100% control over. Focus on improving the things you highlighted.

  • “No matter how much falls on us, we keep plowing ahead. That’s the only way to keep the roads clear.”― Greg Kincaid

We know this about snow storms, and snowy roads. We should expand this insight to life and business as well.

  • “My barn having burned down, I can now see the moon.”― Mizuta Masahide (17th century Japanese poet and samurai)
